Teachers getting burned out is a real, serious matter. Teaching is hard work, no joke, and doing it for long enough time can and will get even the best and brightest a little tuckered out. That having been said, even if you are feeling a little exhausted, perhaps this isn’t the best way of broadcasting that to your students.
We mean, “I’m too old to read this. What grade do you want?” might make that student’s day… but it certainly won’t make them any more knowledgable on anything except the futility of human existence.
