There were, however, a lot of people also claiming that the story was untrue or greatly altered. They claimed that there were inconsistencies in Denny’s story, and that it simply sounded too far-fetched to be real.
Denny knew that his story was real, but was saddened to hear that people were so quick to be cynical. He thought it a great shame that they found it so hard to imagine someone performing such a simple act of kindness, and garnering a positive response from those touched by the act.
