More than anything, Denny wanted the soldiers to take a feeling of being respected and loved to the base with them. Judging by the soldiers’ reactions, he had more than succeeded, by a long shot. Denny began thinking as he made his way from the airport, considering what it really meant to be a soldier.
As he saw it, such a job was the ultimate in commitment to the people of one’s country, no matter who they are. He thought it was the noblest job a person could do.
