Denny was truly touched by the captain’s story, getting up to shake his hand and offer his thanks in return. However, when their conversation ended, something happened that Denny would never have expected.
As they stopped speaking, the people around Denny began to applaud him, in honor of the charity he had so willingly offered. Denny was unable to believe that such a simple act of kindness had caused such a reaction, and was almost a little embarrassed by the applause.
