There are a lot of things in the Harry Potter universe that just immediately make sense. A lot of the names of things are little jokes or puns that you don’t catch on to when you’re a kid, but they all start making sense when you’re just a bit older.
There are a few things that seemingly defy all logic, however. Like the Ravenclaw symbol. The Gryffindor symbol is a griffon (duh), the Slytherin symbol is a snake (of course), and the Ravenclaw symbol is a … eagle? Seems like a typo by J.K. Rowling.
