No parking on the beach is posted on many beaches for this reason. Your car will likely sink into the sand when the tides change. Obviously, this person didn’t see the sign, or just decided to ignore it.
Either way, they got themselves in a lot of trouble. The ocean is not going to stop rising just because you parked in its spot. So, they better roll up their windows and hope the tow truck gets there before the waves do.
