It’s hard to deny how groundbreaking Girls was. Not since Seinfeld has a an entire cast of main characters been so unlikable, and yet so lovable – Hannah probably most of all.
In the very first episode of Girls, the 24-year-old Hannah gets mad at her parents when they tell her they will no longer support her financially. This is the first time we realize how immature and narcissistic Hannah is, which is proved repeatedly during the show’s six seasons (she literally never seems to grow up).
