Kids sometimes shock adults with their directness, cutting to the chase where most of us would tip-toe around for a while. Of course, this is even truer when someone tries to make a child do something they don’t want to do.
When a kid writes home from camp, their parents probably expect some anecdotes about the place and some expressions of missing home. Instead, Josh cut straight to the point, presumably due to hunger.
