Imagine just strolling through a gallery, observing the paintings done by artistic masters of people who have long since left the world, and then suddenly, amidst all the portrayals of nobility, soldiers, religious figures, is… a portrait of you!

This guy must have had quite a bit of a shock when he saw this painting done in 1884 by the Russian artist Ilia Efimovich Repin, adorning the walls of the Metropolitan Museum in New York. The resemblance is almost comical – down to the beard and the brooding eyes.
