Basements have always been and will always be scary, not matter how old we get. It could be residue from those childhood memories, it could be due to watching way too many horror movies.
But either way, turning off the lights in the basement inevitably triggers the urge to run for your life. It’s probably a good thing most of us live in apartments these days. One bonus of never being able to afford buying a house.
