[post_page_title]Well, ten minutes clearly DIDN’T do it, genius[/post_page_title]
Near the end of the first movie, Marty goes back in time to save Doc Brown from the Libyans, who shot him to bits in the original timeline for stealing their plutonium. “Ten minutes oughta do,” he says out loud, despite no one being around. He then ignores what he just declared and sets the DeLorean’s timer to 11 minutes back.
Surprise – he still arrives too late and sees Doc getting shot – again. Dude, you literally have a time machine. You could’ve set the timer back five hours, went shopping at the mall, and STILL had more than enough time to save Doc’s life.
