Things About Back to the Future That Show It Makes No Sense

[post_page_title]You’re not fooling anyone, Michael J. Fox[/post_page_title]

One of the most memorable scenes in the first Back to the Future involves Marty singing Johnny B. Goode at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. Besides the “futuristic” music (for 1955), Marty incorporates several musicians’ trademarks into his performance, including Jimmy Hendrix’s behind-the-head guitar playing and AC/DC guitarist Angus Young’s floor sliding.

You’re not fooling anyone, Michael J. Fox

We know that was Michael J. Fox’s input, because the script called for references to Elvis and Michael Jackson, among others. What we don’t know is who decided Marty’s singing should be dubbed so obviously. The actual singer, Mark Campbell, went uncredited to preserve the illusion, but he sounds nothing like Fox.
