[post_page_title]Hill Valley’s phone book really needs an editor[/post_page_title]
When Marty goes back to 1955, he realizes he has to find the period’s Doc Brown, so he consults a phonebook. It is 1955, after all, and even his native 1985 didn’t yet have a better method to find people. Unfortunately, the person who wrote the book prop forgot to double-check how to spell the name of one of the movie’s two main characters – instead of Emmett, it says “Emmet.”
Well, at least they got his occupation right… We also see Doc’s middle initial is L. Later, in the animated BTTF show, we discover it stands for Lathrop – which sounds like “portal” when said backwards.
