[post_page_title]Doc Brown has a very loose understanding of both history and how years work[/post_page_title]
When Doc Brown explains how the DeLorean works to Marty, he rattles off three important dates as examples. You can go back to the the signing of the Declaration Of Independence, he says, on July 4, 1776. You can also go back to the birth of Jesus – on December 25, 0.
So, firstly, the Declaration was only printed and distributed on July 4 – it was signed much later. Secondly, Jesus wasn’t born on year 0 – because there is no year 0, only 1 BCE and 1 CE. Also, the DeLorean only moves through time, not space – so he’d be in modern-day California instead of Philadelphia or Judea.
