[post_page_title]The case of George McFly vs. George Lucas and Gene Roddenberry[/post_page_title]
In the first movie, a desperate Marty appears to George in the middle of the night as an alien to threaten him with death if he doesn’t ask Lorraine out. Here’s the thing, though – Marty says he’s “Darth Vader from the planet Vulcan” – an obvious reference to Star Wars and Star Trek, which didn’t exist yet in 1955.
But what happens when Star Trek comes along in 1966, followed by Star Wars in 1977? Either George believes both Gene Roddenberry and George Lucas were visited by the same alien, or he thinks they stole the bedrock for their super-successful franchises from his mind.
