[post_page_title]The cool fading photo makes zero sense[/post_page_title]
To give the first movie a sense of urgency, Marty conveniently takes a photo of himself and his two siblings to 1955, and their figures slowly disappear as his actions cause his parents to veer further and further from becoming a couple. It’s a nice visual cue, but it also makes no sense.
Either Marty and his siblings exist, and thus would show up in the photo, or they don’t, in which case there wouldn’t even be a photo. There’s no in-between phase where they only two-thirds exist. What’s more, Marty’s image later begins disappearing at a faster rate, which makes even less sense.
