Things haven’t been great for Kmart for quite a while now. They’ve had struggles since the ‘90s when their sales began to decline. This led the company to declare bankruptcy in the millennium, with over 30,000 employees losing their jobs as a result.
Although it looked like the brand would be saved when they merged with Sears, things still aren’t looking great for the department store chain. They ended up declaring bankruptcy again, and are now hoping Transform Holdco can save them from disaster.
