One of the things we tend to overlook when watching some of our favorite tv shows is just how expensive they are to produce. Of course, money isn’t everything, although it does seem to make a difference when it comes to production value.

The Wire focused on showing various aspects of criminal activity from the criminals themselves and the police department. It made quite an impression on the fans but demanded a high budget to keep going.
