Theodor Geisel, or Dr. Seuss as he is better known, created several memorable characters and stories thanks to his many books throughout his lifetime. It didn’t end there. Many of his masterpieces have since been turned into TV shows and movies.
The author and cartoonist penned more than 60 books over the years before he lost the battle to cancer in 1991. His novels continue to sell with 4.8 million flying off the shelves in 2017, earning him $16 million the following year.
