This father is seemingly trying to discourage his daughter from some less than desirable behavior. Passing wind isn’t exactly celebrated in most social situations, and this father feels as though his daughter has too much gas.
To try and put an end to her smelly ways, he tries to make the point that a mermaid princess wouldn’t do what she does but then gets confused. No one can know what a mermaid princess does, and this father finished with more questions than answers.
