The rice cooker is an amazing invention. While cooking rice wasn’t all that complicated before (just measure some out and boil some water), rice cookers take any difficult parts out of the equation entirely. All you need to do is press start.
What you definitely do not (and should not do) with a rice cooker is place it on top of a hot stove to speed things up. This person tried it and ended up with this gnarly result. Maybe consult the directions next time? Just a thought.
