A common complaint from people who’ve have their names “ruined” by pop culture is how people think they’re sooo creative when making a joke about their name. Well, here we have at least three centuries worth of “creative” name jokes.
The nursery rhyme Jack and Jill dates back at least to the 18th century, which means that there have been many pairs of Jacks and Jills, like this woman and her father, who have had to hear countless proud repetitions of “Jack and Jill went up the hill.”
