Being a target of other people’s assumptions is never fun, so we can imagine that all Carolines feel the same frustration when it comes to being called Sweet Caroline – brought to you by Neil Diamond. This Caroline right here, for example, wants the world to know that she’s not sweet.
Here’s something that might change their perception of the song, though. The Library of Congress has recognized Sweet Caroline’s “cultural, historical and aesthetic significance,” and selected it for preservation in the National Recording Registry. Pretty cool, right?
