A lot of the people who talked about their names being related to pop culture were annoyed by it, but this story right here is actually sweet. This woman’s mother-in-law is named Roberta, and her father-in-law was named Ernest, so they were “a real life Bert and Ernie.”
The original idea of the beloved Bert and Ernie characters was to show that two people with totally different characteristics can still be good friends; so we hope that even if the “real life Bert and Ernie” were very different to each other, they were still a great couple.
