Marvel TV shows everyone should see

If you haven’t seen these already, then you better go grab yourself a hot drink and plonk yourself down in front of the TV asap. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a pretty incredible set of movies, with an already quite expansive history. However, there is a whole world out there that totally expands on the MCU that fill the holes and make everything come together. Others are just great stories you can’t miss out on.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

The great thing about this series is that it is all about S.H.I.E.L.D who, as you may know, work closely alongside the Avengers and is spearheaded by Nick Fury. However, the series starts when S.H.I.E.L.D is somewhat under fire but gives viewers an in-depth explanation as to why they’re not more help during various life-threatening events that the Avengers face. It also expands the universe even further, taking everything into space as they endure their own world-threatening adventures. This is probably the series at the moment which most directly links to the events within the MCU.

Marvel’s Agent Carter

If you loved Captain America and couldn’t get enough of Peggy Carter, then you’ll be pleased to know that she stars in her own series. It’s an entirely different kind of MCU series and shows how, even back then, they were fighting against foes and without all the modern tech to help them. Sure, Avengers: Endgame probably changes things around a bit, but all the same it’s pretty incredible. We wonder how things did work out in the end, considering that Captain American did make his way back? Well, perhaps that was a different Peggy Carter, from a different timeline, who knows?

Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger

While the series focuses on young people, it opens up the dialogue for darker themes that could be related to by young people today. It follows the story of a girl and a boy who come from very different backgrounds, yet somehow find themselves always finding their way to each other. They, together, try to uncover the conspiracy surrounding her father. They are also getting to grips with their newfound powers, while the series also explores themes of discrimination and substance abuse.

Marvel’s The Punisher

The Punisher is a gritty adult drama that totally outdoes the previous movies that also claim the namesake. While it operates an internal storyline, it’s gripping, it’s action-packed, and you can’t help but feel attached to this terrifying vigilante. Starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, this series does a stunning job at the franchise. The first season focuses on a conspiracy that eventually uncovers the mystery that surrounds the Punisher’s family, who lost their lives as a result.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones

Jessica Jones has been considered one of the coolest Marvel characters. She’s a Personal Investigator who also has super strength, wit, and a bad attitude. However, her heart tries to stay in the right place as she goes around the city trying to do the right thing. She suffers and slips up along the way and finds herself facing the one foe who can get the better of her; ‘Kilgrave’ played by David Tennant. It’s not the boom, clap people enjoy but has totally different qualities that make it amazing. If you watch Jessica Jones, you’ll also realize they make reference to other series such as Iron Fist and Daredevil. There’s a long list.

There are plenty of series made in the name of Marvel, and they’re all very different from each other. If you want to get the most comprehensive view of the Marvel world, then they’re all worth a watch.
