This is exactly what they don’t do in horror movies, no matter how much we yell at them from the safety of our couches. Shower scenes especially are so stressful, because of how vulnerable the clueless person showering is. They have no idea someone with evil intent is just sneaking in their bedroom window.
But it would be kind of funny if for once, they outsmarted the killer, turned around and punched them in the face before they got the chance to attack first.
