All those beautiful visuals, the gowns, the scenery, the catchy tunes, the charismatic characters… They make us sink into the story and not really pay attention to some weird details about Disney movies.
Beauty and the Beast is supposedly a story about how looks don’t matter, but all these years, had we been looking at the wrong message? Was the “tale as old as time” actually about… Belle’s Stockholm syndrome after being held captive by the Beast?
