It seems as if the everyday discrimination extended into the bureaucratic side of things as well. The same black employee who spoke up about racism in the office also says that she was likely denied a raise because of it.
She was more qualified and had more experience than a white coworker doing her same job that made twice the money she made. When she asked for a raise, the Ellen team just brushed it off and nothing ever happened.
