If you’re unaware of Ellen’s long history of being at the forefront of LGBTQ representation, maybe do a little research. By the time she gave the audience of the 2015 Teen Choice Awards some choice advice, she was already decades deep in the action.
Highlights from her speech included: “I want to say also it feels good to be chosen, but there was a time in my life that I was not chosen… So you should be proud of being different, you should be proud of who you are… because being unique is very, very important.”
