To be fair, all the guys on Big Bang Theory are pretty terrible. But Leonard was sold as the more decent one, the one who was very smart and geeky – but also had some common sense. In hindsight, he probably only seemed great because we compared him to his even more hopeless friends.
In actuality, Leonard is extremely needy, selfish, and keeps ruining his relationship with Penny. And whereas the other guys mature over the seasons (even Sheldon gets married), Leonard seems to get progressively worse.
