Katniss impressed us all when she bravely volunteered as tribute instead of her terrified younger sister Primrose, and she is the clear hero of The Hunger Games. But for a hero, she’s quite whiny and childish.
Katniss takes the concept of “reluctant hero” to the max, and she was infuriatingly indecisive about which guy she wanted. Poor Peetha and Gale were left hanging and hoping way too long as a consequence. And Katniss, even when she did make her choice, continued to seem quite indifferent and grumpy about…everything.
