Either this class was guilty of too much texting under their desks, or their teacher is just a massive control freak. If this is the way the instructor has decided to take attendance, as well as enforce a no-phone policy, we just hope it’s a justified response to the students’ failure to text responsibly.
We know we wouldn’t be comfortable with our phones being confiscated and displayed all class long. It seems “I forgot my phone,” must be a common line among these kids though, as the number of empty pockets is almost equal to those with phones.
