When the cold hits, turning the heat on full blast in your car is one of the most satisfying things you can do. The frost slowly disappears from the windscreen – your breath stops being so upsetting visible – you can take off your second and third pairs of gloves. It’s fantastic to drive around in your own little pocket of warmth, while the world outside is frozen.
This is, naturally, reliant on you not having a car that’s full of snow because for some reason you decided to leave the sunroof open overnight. A mistake that is as easy to avoid as it is bewildering – this driver now has a major shoveling job on their hands before they’re getting anywhere near the warmth.
