Parents get angry when school shames their daughters for ‘inappropriate’ outfits

Drew said her daughter Lucy, who’s only a sixth grader, already feels the stress of wondering whether or not her clothes will be OK when she gets dressed for school in the morning.

Working together for change

Lucy, 11, read a statement during the meeting, and pretty much mic dropped. She said she goes to school every morning to get smarter, not to fill her head with worries of being dress-coded for wearing leggings or shorts. She hopes, and we do too, that parents and educators work together to make some changes happen.
