This is really a supreme team effort. Working together to transfer materials requires everyone to work in sync. The rope connection seems like a good idea, as the assumption seems to be that if one person falls, someone else will be able to catch him.
It is a good theory, but another possibility is that if one man falls, everyone else can fall with him. The top guy would be in the most danger if this happens. Let’s hope that theory has never been tested.
