Jovovich, originally from the Ukraine, has gone on to make a name for herself in the movie industry. The film that is considered her “big break” is the sci-fi cult classic, The Fifth Element.
She plays the titular character, the fifth element, also known as Leeloo Minai Lekatariba Lamina-Tchaï Ekbat De Sebat (or Leeloo for short). Leeloo is a living weapon, whose purpose is to save all life from a nefarious and faceless evil who seeks to destroy it. At the last moment, Leeloo falters and must be convinced that life is worth saving.
