Ever noticed that little hole in the bottom of a padlock? There are two reasons as to why it is there. The first is letting water flow through if it’s used outdoors and is exposed to rain and snow. That way it wont rust as easily, or freeze and break during the winter.
But the hole is also there to give easy access to the inner workings of the lock. That’s where you should put oil to keep the lock smooth and working for longer.
