1995’s ‘Independence Day’ is often thought of as a major turning point in Hollywood’s production of large-scale disaster blockbusters. Theater-goers were thrilled by its big-budget CGI effects and excellent performances from its ensemble cast, including Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum.
However, there have also been a few mistakes pointed out. One of the biggest mistakes that often frustrates audiences is how emergency services are heard describing the Empire State Building as on 34th street, when actually it is located on 53rd street.
